We start the day with a cold start. Bob tells me that there was ice on the windscreen this morning, but I didn't notice as i had to go to the toilet which was 300 mtrs away from where we were. I get the dogs on their leads and they can come for the walk with me to the toilets. They sniff and smell their way with me attached and relieve themselves before I get the chance to. On my way to the public ammenities, I stop and chat to our neighbours this morning as they are on the move early. I suggest he spray the tracks and pullies with some WD40, which he has done, so maybe this will help free up the issues he has with his family camper. The eldest son get to have a pat of Jack, and the dogs and I are on our way again. I get to the said desination, and tie the dogs up so I can use the ammenities, and all is good. The guys don't know how lucky they have itm when they can just go outside and pee behind a tree., it's just not the same for us women.
While I am away, Bob has started packing up the camp, and I have not even gotten my morning coffee. He does tell me he is very conscious of my coffee need, and promises I will have it by 10 am. It doesn't take to long to pack up this morning, as not all the things were taken out of the trailer. So we are on our way again, after we have fueled up. heading to Windorah. This is a distance of 378 kms on a sealed road all the way.
We stop at Eromanga, and have breakfast, with coffee at a Cafe there, and then we go and check out the Dinosaur museum, well it is called the Natural History Museum. Eramanga is home to that largest Australian Dinosaur, Cooper, but we are inbetween tour groups so we miss out on seeing it, but have a look about what is here. This appears to be a relativly new facility, with what seems like a lot more infrastructure to happen.
We again take time to let the dogs out and have a run, and a comfort stop, before heading on again. There are little bits of water on the road, so as I am driving, I drive through some of the puddles, Bob has rung ahead to the Windorah caravan park, and it is a council run park, and the idea is to go and pick your site, set up and someone comes around to collect the fees in the afternoon.
The road that we have taken is not the usual route that most people take, and parts of the road is only one lane, but there is still a little amount of traffic, and slowing up and moving over to one side is mandatory. The landscape changes, but the soil is still very red. There are areas of soney plains, and then some with some vegetation, and some with water, it is after all the channel country.
We arrive in Windorah, about 2 pm and grab some fuel from one of the two feul places in town. I go inside the shop to find some conditioner for my hair, as it feels like straw, and the conditioner we had, met an accidental end, but not at my hands.
We find a place to camp and as I am driving it is my turn to try and get the camper in the right place, and after a couple of manovers I get it in the right place. We go about unpacking the trailer, and setting up the camper, and then take a drive around the town.
When we come back it is shower time, as it has been a couple of days. Bob told me that the showers at Noccutunca were cold even though they where supposed to be hot, but I was not going to take the chance and have a cold shower, so today we are both longing to have hot showers.
It is good to have a hot shower, and wash my hair, and put some decent conditioner on it.
After some time Bob starts to cook tea, and after we have eaten, we again take the dogs for a walk before it gets dark, and I snap an awesome shot of the sunset. The night is cooling down and we turn the heater on when we get indoors and watch a movie before we turn in for the night.
We have decided to stay another night here, and have booked into a caravan park in Longreach for 3 nights from Wednesday night.
