Wanarring to Tiboorburra, a distance of 234kms. Tiboorburra has a population of 134.
It was nice to be listen to the symphony of bird tunes this morning, starting with the wonderful sounds of the Magpie.
After a night of rain, we are a little unsure as to whether to go to Tibooburra, due to road conditions. As all the roads here are dirt/sand, and we have no way of knowing how the conditions of them are. We were talking to the older couple that came across from there yesterday and said that it had a couple of horrendus parts in it.
We are not in a hurry this morning, and the dogs are loving the space to run around in here. There was a frisbee in the yard here, and we started playing with it with Jack, and he seems to really enjoy it. Eventually, he masters the art of catching it in air, some of the time. After a leisurely breakfast, we eventually make a decision to head on to Tiboorurra. We figured that if we stayed it could rain more and we could be stuck for longer, so we pack up and make tracks for the said destination. Bob has hosed off some of the mud that is on the trailer, but we know that it will be covered yet again with more.
We fuel up the ute again, and head off, to see what lays ahead.
We find the road wet, and there is lots of slipping and sliding of ute and trailer. So my ute is now a lovely brown colour tinged with blue. So again I hang on, and Bob manages to guide the ute and trailer through the mud and slush. Half of the way was wet, and then eventually the road dries out and we are able to travel a little quicker, but given the parts of corrugation, it was a little bit of a slower trip. There are a few grids that we go over, and one such grid that we flew over, we were a little air bourne, although I am sure Bob will disagree with me.
The dogs are not so sure of this corrugated road, as Jack has put himself up on the floor over the draws, and at some tim es both the dogs are down in the compartment in fromt of the drawers.
During this stretch of road between the two towns, there are no other settlements and we past only 4 cars and two trucks. Quite a bit quieter than other days.
We get to Tibooburra at 2.30 pm and find the truckstop that is where we have booked a room for the night. We have another steak sandwich for our lunch today, and then go and find our Room and check in.
Once all settled, Bob goes to hunt down a laundry and puts some washing on. Some time later he goes and gets it from the washing machine and hangs it out, after a resident of the caravan park tells him she has taken it out ofthe machine, as someone else was wanting to use the machine. We then go and drive this little town, and find a place out of town to give the dogs a run and toilet stop before we turn them in for the night. On the way back we think about what we are going to do for tea, there is two pubs and the general store that we have choices with. I don't feel like eating out, so we go to the general store and buy a loaf of bread and a sticker. We have decided to have toasted sandwiches for tea, and when we get back to the room, there is some left over curried sausages that we had for tea last night. Bob discovers that there is a fully equipped kitchen and he goes and reheats the leftovers for his tea. I have ham sandwiches, and that is tea done. We watch a bit of TV for a while before I
