Sunday 27th June 2021
A quiet day today.
We went into town and had a snack at the local bakery. Again, this bakery was very busy, and people were lined up outside to buy their supplies. We managed to find a table and eat in. Was very nice. After that we went back to the discount shop and bought a couple of things, a dog coat for Jack, a beanie and gloves for Bob, it was somewhat cool this morning, with a temp of 1 degrees.
We then went and found the tourism information centre, Bob tried to book into the Bilby experience but it was fully booked, so we were squeezed us in for tomorrow morning at 9am. We then went and found the RSL and I was quite surprised at how big it was. We went in and booked a table for tea tonight, as it is the second game of the state of Origin, and thought it would be agood place to watch it on TV, given that we don't have that luxury with us.
Next we check out the Observatory, that is fully booked out untill the 11th of July. So we won't be doing that this trip, maybe another trip out this way might warranted so that we can experience the night sky show.
We have found a good spot for the dogs to have a bit of a run and sniff and spent a bit of time there letting them sniff and run about.
We go back to the camp and chill for a while, and then we get ready to go to the RSL for tea. We have decided to go a bit earlier, as it is cooling off, and there will be a lot of people there and it will be warm. The meal is good, we both had the Carvery, I had pork, and Bob had the Beef. We were correct in our assumptions, about it being full, and very busy. We watched the State of Origin for the first half, and then went back to the camp, as the Qlders were not doing so well.
